Privacy Policy for Local Screenshot Master Pro

Chrome Extension · Last updated: August 1, 2026

Prominent disclosure: when you explicitly start a capture, Local Screenshot Master Pro may temporarily handle visible page pixels from the active tab, the current tab URL for Chrome compatibility checks, your annotations, and image regions submitted to local OCR. Screenshots, annotations, OCR images, and recognized text are processed locally in Chrome and are not uploaded to ToolPile or third-party servers.

Scope

This policy applies to the Local Screenshot Master Pro Chrome Extension and this extension-related privacy page under /extensions/local-screenshot-master-pro/privacy. The main ToolPile website has a separate privacy policy for website features, analytics, accounts, and hosted tools.

Data handled by the extension

When a user explicitly starts a capture, the extension may temporarily handle the minimum data needed for browser screenshot, annotation, and local OCR features.

DataPurposeWhere it is processed or stored
Visible website content and screenshot pixels from the active tabSelect a region, create a screenshot, copy, or save the imageLocally in Chrome while the screenshot interface is open
Current tab URLDetermine whether Chrome blocks extensions from operating on that pageUsed locally for compatibility checks
User-entered annotations such as text, drawings, and shapesAdd annotations to the screenshot chosen by the userLocally in browser memory while editing
Image regions submitted to OCR and recognized textRecognize Chinese or English text from the selected image regionLocally in Chrome using bundled OCR assets
Interface language preferenceRemember the selected UI languagechrome.storage.local

Data not collected

The extension does not intentionally collect credentials, payment information, health information, personal communications, or other sensitive categories for a separate purpose. Such information may incidentally appear in a screenshot selected by the user, but it remains on the user's device and is not transmitted to the developer.

How data is used

Data is used only for user-facing screenshot features: selecting a region, creating a scrolling screenshot, adding annotations, copying or saving an image, pausing a video on the selected frame, and recognizing Chinese or English text locally.

Local processing and storage

Local-first behavior: screenshot pixels, annotations, and OCR text are processed locally in Chrome. The OCR engine, worker, WebAssembly code, and language models are bundled with the extension.

Screenshots and annotation history are kept temporarily in browser memory while the screenshot interface is open. The extension does not maintain a cloud screenshot history. A screenshot is saved to disk or written to the clipboard only when the user chooses that action.

The extension stores only the interface language preference in Chrome local storage. Users can remove it by uninstalling the extension or clearing the extension's stored data.

Data transmission and sharing

The extension does not upload screenshots, OCR images, recognized text, annotations, browsing history, or personal information to the developer or third-party servers. It does not sell user data and does not include analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

The popup contains optional external support and product links. Opening a link navigates the browser to that website, but the extension does not attach screenshot or OCR data to the request. The destination website's privacy policy applies after the user leaves the extension.

Permissions

Permissions are used strictly for visible screenshot and local OCR features:

Network, remote code, and third parties

Extension behavior
The extension does not upload screenshot or OCR data and does not include analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
Chrome Web Store
Google may process information according to its own policies when you install or manage the extension through Chrome Web Store.
Cloudflare
This privacy policy page is hosted through Cloudflare. Standard security and delivery logs may be processed by Cloudflare as part of serving this webpage.
External support links
Opening an optional support or product link leaves the extension; no screenshot or OCR data is attached by the extension.

Data retention and deletion

Temporary screenshot and OCR data is discarded when the screenshot interface is closed or the related extension context ends. Files saved by the user and content copied to the system clipboard remain under the user's control.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

The extension's use of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. User data is used only to provide or improve the extension's single user-facing purpose.

Changes to this policy

If the extension's data practices change, this policy and the Chrome Web Store disclosures will be updated before those changes are released.
